Filmmaker Statement

Master Sensei is an absurd and pitch-black comedy in the style of cult-classics like "Napoleon Dynamite" and "Bad Santa". Like these films, "Master Sensei" takes place in a recognizable universe closely aligned with our own, but where things can take a turn into the absurd at any moment. It's a world with a coarse tone and over-the-top antics, but where the characters' inner struggles and feelings of inadequacy make the story relatable. Humor and tragedy often go hand in hand, and my intention is to deliver a cinematic experience that will make you feel joy, discomfort, empathy, and contempt all at once.
