Filmmaker Statement

Back in the summer of 2022 in Finland, me and writer-producer Vili Sakselin wanted to make a film together before the summer ended and Vili flew back to UK, where he studied at the time. Both of us wanted to make something gritty and adventurous, that naturally incorporated finnish scenery and forests in the story and possibly had a hint of mythology sprinkled in it. We came up with the idea of Thor, the mythological Scandinavian god, that had been stranded on Earth for thousands of years. He has turned into a caveman-like figure, a savage beast that roams the wilderness with only one goal in mind - to find his lost hammer with magical abilities and destroy anyone who gets in the way. The story has turned into legend and it so happens two brothers have gotten hint of the story. They venture into the wilderness in search of the hammer and we follow their adventure, as they find the story proves as real as it gets. This film is first in a series of collaborations between me and Vili.
