Filmmaker Statement

I made this film because it is a deeply personal story, and through it, I want to speak to the world about something very important. War is not just what you read about every day in the news: destroyed homes, the number of missiles launched, and the death toll. War is about every single home with its window and the family behind that window. War is about people who have names, loved ones, children, their past, their present, and who are trying to plan for the future. War is always about people. Some of them are defending their homes or supporting the choices of their loved ones who take a risky step, while others decide they can take someone else’s home.
