Of all the stories I could have told, "Mother's Instinct" emerged from a deeply personal need to explore the emotional complexities of motherhood, sacrifice, and identity. Surrogacy, often viewed through a clinical lens, conceals the profound emotional struggles and moral dilemmas it entails. With this film, I aim to illuminate the raw human experience of surrogacy by delving into the intricate emotional journeys of the characters involved in the process. Inspired by a personal childhood experience—not directly related to surrogacy but profoundly shaping my understanding of motherhood—I wanted to capture the inner conflict of a woman confronting the heart-wrenching reality of relinquishing a child she has carried and nurtured for nine months.
