Drawing inspiration from the painting 'Saturn Devouring his Son' by Gaya the film revolves around a Bengali middle-class family of four. As the characters are introduced we get a peek into the dark side of their seemingly mundane life. On one such mundane Sunday, the patriarch of the family decides to enjoy mutton for lunch while his wife and two sons concede to his wishes, thus showcasing the delicate dynamic that they share: the dynamic nourished by mere fear and submission instead of mutual love and respect. As his oppressive ways make the threads holding the family come undone, we are made to witness the dire repercussions that turn this seemingly normal family's life upside down. Focusing on the nuances of gender disparity, marital rape, patriarchal notions, and childhood trauma, this film takes us through the dark side of humanity and the human subconscious.
