Filmmaker Statement

When Lockdown was first announced, my initial thought was how are people who may suffer from domestic abuse going to cope. Children who use school as an escape from their abusive homes, and adults who use social life or work as an escape. This then planted a seed to wanting to explore deeply if this situation were to occur to someone who is an immigrant with no other family or friends nearby or in the same country. NAKATO was born thereafter.
