Filmmaker Statement

This film is a short proof of concept for a larger feature length script by the same name. It is about my own experience in high school as a kid trying to navigate my dad's worsening cancer, while also trying to live my life like a teenager would. It was messy, often angry, and never like what you'd expect if you'd only seen sickness and loss in movies. That led me to want to make this movie where it was, at least more so than I'd seen, like what I went through.
