Filmmaker Statement

The idea of a girlfriend unveiling something dark to her new boyfriend came to me while having coffee with a friend. He told me that later that night, his girlfriend promised to finally share the stories behind her tattoos. My mind went rampant with possibilities that I wrote down. But it became more personal for me when I inserted my own chronic singleness into the story, imagining a scenario where I could reach this character's desperation.
