Filmmaker Statement

Throughout all my films there is one throughline. An interest in the disparity between presentation and reality. This is why I am fascinated with the idea of a unified Canadian identity. How can citizens so diverse and full of culture be placed into the same pigeonhole? This is a question our federal and local governments have been banging their head upon since before my time. How do you control that which you can't define? By force. OH... CANADA is a critique, a cinematic rebellion against the federal branding of Canada at large, and being a Quebecker myself, a scathing review of a province unhinged.
