Filmmaker Statement

On The Fence is a film that examines the inherent ties between home and identity, and instills a single but fundamental message to those who ever feel at a crossroads with their culture: you are not alone. I wrote and directed On the Fence with the intent to understand the complexities and loneliness I felt as a 1st generation immigrant. I hope that in sharing this message, audiences may find their own meaning of home and community, the way the subjects of the film found it in each other.
