ON THE TABLE is a love letter to restaurants. An homage to the classic new york dining experience, our short film follows one waitress through a busy night of service. Breaking the fourth wall, Diana Arnold carries us with her from table to table, gracefully guiding the audience through hilarious customer interactions, personal anecdotes, and poignant, challenging moments. By sharing with us her two decades of experience at the city’s best restaurants we are reminded of why we go out to eat, and what we are really craving. ON THE TABLE blends the mediums of theatre and film to offer a voice to the seldom-heard, often overlooked waitress. With so many of us feeling the loss of restaurants this year, this film reminds us that being in service to others is what lies at the heart of our favorite restaurants.
