Filmmaker Statement

During the Covid pandemic, I wrote many short stories to keep my mind from escaping. The one I dared to tell followed the ensuing night of two strangers; a French girl and an America boy. Being particularly interested in world cinema (namely the New Wave(s) out of central Europe), I found much of the subject matter revolved around cerebral conversation or more existential ideas. Mixing this subject matter with a more experimental approach (shooting on 16mm (b/w) and not sticking to any narrative convention), I started building this project, One Night Before Sunrise.
