Filmmaker Statement

This story was inspired by my experiences navigating male-dominated spaces in the indie music scene and platonic friendships with the opposite sex. I wanted to explore how toxic masculinity is not always flagrant; often, it is veiled and subconscious. It is a story about a betrayal, violation, and how a lack of self-awareness and social awareness leads to a limited understanding of personal boundaries. I hope this film will expand our conversations around consent, complicity, and how men and women can create safe spaces for one another.
