Filmmaker Statement

I found a trip to Berlin especially haunting in the context of the Ukraine War and increasing tensions between Russia and the West. Upon discovering the story of the 1983 Soviet Nuclear False Alarm Incident - whereby Stanislav Petrov refused to retaliate to an apparent American Nuclear attack - there was immediately clear 'what if' tale to be told. Order 27 is a satire concerned with decisions that can affect millions+ often being made by a couple of idiots in a small room. It's also about the work place relationships between entry-level roles and their immediate superiors, where personal goals can often get in the way of those of the organisation.
