Being raised by a strong single mother, I couldn’t help but become a Mama’s Boy. Flash forward twenty years with a lot of life in between, that Mama’s Boy sat on a cold sidewalk next to his Mother who had been missing for over two years due to drug addiction. In the moments where I believed she was dead, I couldn’t help but ask questions like “What happens when you die? Is there a door? A staircase? Or is it darkness?” But what terrified me the most, was that the only time she existed was in my dreams. Exploring the landscape of memories, dreams, and reality merging into one, I set out to create a film about about a son looking for his mother within supernatural places. However, I wanted to make my story relatable so that anyone who has lost a parent could feel seen and heard. Coming out of the pandemic, the fragility of life was on many peoples' minds and I wanted 'Panorama' to be an opportunity for people to feel the beauty of our limited time here on Earth.
