Filmmaker Statement

Two woman, seemingly so different in age and background, brought together under extreme circumstances, and finally finding what they both really needed - companionship. This film is endearing as it is enlightening, uncovering the complexities and understanding in female relationships. While it lingers close to a dark side of life, it still manages to find beauty and acceptance. This is why I chose to make this film, and being one of the first short films I ever made, it become a significant point in my career as a short film maker. There are certainly lessons to learn from watching it now, so many years after it was made, but I still look back at it with pride and gratitude. To have been able to make a film that still manages to instil an emotive reaction by anyone who watches it, and allows us to make our own connections to it, through our own personal journeys and experiences.
