My uncle was my best friend. I didn't grow up with a dad so he was also a father-figure, even though he was only 13 years my senior. He committed suicide ten years ago and it spun me out of control. No one really knew how to approach me or aid me in my grieving process, though they tried like hell. I know what my main character Eddie feels like. I know that when you are grieving after experiencing some sort of trauma all you want to do is escape it. I know that the more people ask you if you're okay the more you retrieve into yourself. I wrote this film in an attempt to try and capture that moment in my life. It feels like it is something that would resonate with others experiencing grief and at least they'd know they're not alone.
