Filmmaker Statement

A lot of the subject matter in this film is inspired by my own real life experiences. I thought narrating the film via stand up was a good vehicle to move the story forward in a very direct way. I wanted to tell my post-divorce story, and what happened when I pre-maturely jumped onto the dating apps before I was ready. I met someone who I thought was "the one" but after it didn't work out, the experience crushed me. At the time, it was so painful and that experience was what inspired the making of this film. I wanted to make this film because I wanted to create something out of the pain - from my miscarriage, my divorce and heartbreak. I'm incredibly proud of what we made, especially for my first short film. Thank you!
