On a dry spring afternoon, a friend arrived at my home in a small volcanic mountain town outside of Mexico City. When she entered my living room, she was emitting an off-brand melancholy, and she was super tender. She explained that her father had passed away days before. “How are you?,” I asked. That's when my dear friend monologued for hours. She spoke about life, death, dreams, and most of all, missing her father's imperfect, unconditional love. I witnessed my friend in pain, but also more alive than ever, and expanding in front of me. I asked her if we could record a poetic version of her monologue. This film is two minutes of what was actually a ten hour process. It was shot on 35mm film.
