I was born in a little town in the northeast of Brazil, Mossoro. In 2007, I moved to Rio de Janeiro to study theater. Over the years, I realized that photography was a powerful way to tell my own stories and integrate my art background to do so. In 2017, I started to work in collaboration with other artists and do my own projects with photography and video, always focused on women issues. But I never thought that I would find the subject in my own family. In 2020, my grandfather died from Covid 19, succumbed to the feeling of loss, I returned to my hometown and decided to document this process of grief and rebirth with my family. "Saudades" was developed and photographed  during my first year at the Documentary Practices and Photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography. After graduating, the project received the grant Poti Cultural 2021 - SESC RN and was edited as a short film.
