Back in 2021, I had just moved to a new city, I was starting at a new school, and I didn’t know anyone. I was lonely. Though I never encountered anyone in my apartment’s laundry room, I knew I wasn’t alone when I saw the fabric remains of the previous patron. And this was enough to feel a little less alone. As my directorial debut, Sock Orphanage is about love and destiny, and everything that happens in spite of the two.
