The story is based on the golden hours preceding the annual Passover dinner at my childhood. It portrays my naive yet honest attempt to confront the paradox, which was to clean and sanitize a house so cluttered and occupied that it'd be impossible to move without knocking down piles of oily pots and pans, books, or dirty dishes. Should anyone dare to hide for a cigarette, resist, or worse, protest, they will face not only the wrath of God but also the wrath of my mother. Tradition has always been my mother's bedrock, with Passover as its tallest pillar. This sacred day served as a counterpoint to year-round hardships and the struggles of a single immigrant mother to uphold her Holocaust-survivor heritage while embracing her hoarding tendencies. Year after year, her noble duty collided with her inability to clean, resulting in vertigo dizziness. Armed with yellow gloves and oil remover, I reluctantly became her successor, tasked with liberating our home from hazardous clutter.
