Filmmaker Statement

I’ve been wanting to tell this story based on my own teenage experiences of living in the English home counties and having aspirations of becoming a player on the early UK hip hop scene ever since I became a filmmaker. I now live in Surrey, near the village of Compton, and it just seems perfect to set my film in the quaint village that shares its name with the home of gangsta rap.
