Filmmaker Statement

Memories both joyful and heart wrenching, remind us of how we grow. Loud echoes in a spacious pool overwhelm young anxious swimmers. The body can feel like a foreign place. One that is unstable and often betrays us. Tight swim suits leave one vulnerable and self-aware. Nowhere to hide but behind your own bones. Small joys like snacks and friendship come in to lighten the load. We look back with a sense of humor and are reminded that we made it through.
