Filmmaker Statement

When I started writing this short film, I realized I had no idea what I really wanted. I knew where I would shoot, and that I didn't have a crew, and yet I wanted to shoot something. I spent about a week absorbing reference material and suddenly found myself overwhelmed with so much information and so many possibilities — it could be a horror short, a drama, a comedy, a fantasy, something like a travelogue, it could be in Portuguese or English...and many more. — and I needed some time to rest, and so I had this idea to write about that feeling. The feeling of being so overwhelmed that you need time away from the world to recover. so I did it. I started writing and within an afternoon I had a script.
