Filmmaker Statement

'That's Why I Have to Have All the Doors Open' was written and filmed in one day. The crew consisted of just a cameraman and myself with a cast of two. We wanted to create a short noir in which the male gaze is turned on its head, quite literally. My direction to the composer Marc Teitler was to create a score which hints at ritualistic sacrifice.
