Filmmaker Statement

"The Breakup" is the first episode of five in my web series, Club Rat, which is a comedy series based on the dating experiences of me and a group of my girlfriends who I grew up with in NYC. Honestly, the reason I made this project is that a TV show I was developing got shelved in anticipation of the writers strike, and I just couldn't bare the thought of waiting until who knew when until to make something. My goal with the project was to make something that would be relatable and funny and fun to watch, but also that would allow me to collaborate with my friends and have a finished product to show by the end of the year (2023). I can confidently say that those goals were met--the making of Club Rat was one of the most fun and rewarding collaborative experiences of my life, and we finished it start to end in seven months! Now, I'm hoping to get our little show in front of a broader audience <3.
