This film was initially conceived during the pandemic. When covid hit, a friend of mine invited me to house-sit what can best be described as a pseudo-mansion. The lockdown in Buenos Aires was one of the longest in the world, stretching on for months. I spent countless hours on youtube, amazed at the endless barrage of conspiracy theories that ensued. And one managed to hook me: the simulation theory. There I was, in a mansion, in a poor country suffering an economic emergency, wondering wether life was simulated or real. The idea for the movie came shortly after. I had to try and capture that fantastical, narcissistic, sad yet humorous, utterly ridiculous feeling in a film! Three years later, the short premiered in the Fantaspoa Fantastic Film festival. Now, I just want it to reach a wider audience. I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Cheers, A.
