The Clean Water Tank Project Mission
In less than 2 minutes you will learn something you did not know about drinking water. This very short film takes a close look at our drinking water and the work of the Ron Perrin Clean Water Tank Project, Inc. They promote and explain the need for cleaning water storage tanks and towers. Cleaning tanks and towers is often forgotten as the interior of the tank is simply out of sight and out of mind. Instead, the focus of many water utilities is on adding more chemical disinfectants to meet federal and state guidelines. Bacteria, protozoa, viruses, and other microbes can use the sediment at the bottom of storage tanks as a habitat to grow and eventually become a health concern.
Our Mission: To promote the safe inspection & cleaning of water storage tanks and towers with 1) Publications, 2) Video projects, 3) Safety training, and 4) Support research to explain the dangers hidden in tank sediment and the need to remove it from tanks.
Filmmaker Statement
Potable water tanks are the last stop drinking water makes between the water treatment plant and your house. However, the interior condition of these tanks often goes out of sight and out of mind. Sediment buildup on the floor of the tanks often goes undetected for years. My goal is to raise awareness of the importance of comprehensive inspection and when needed cleaning of water storage tanks and towers.
