The Director's Cut is based loosely on my filmmaking journey. I say *loosely* because I am not a psychopathic murderer. BUUUT, I've experienced the harsh reality of people not fully understanding one of my previous films. In a sense, a film no longer belongs to us once we put it out into the ether; it belongs to the audience. And they can say whatever they want about it, while there is no rebuttal from the filmmaker. Luca Branzini faces this same conflict and quite literally decides to take matters into his own hands, protecting his film regardless of the consequences.
