Filmmaker Statement

From 15million views on instagram as a 2 minute reel to a full 15minute short film, the journey of this story has evolved and been refined along the way. Surprisingly enough, this film isn’t really about lost socks, it’s about mortality and dealing with the loss of a loved one when the time comes. It’s a film about hope, in the sense that a memory can carry weight that allows our friends and family, that are no longer with us, to live on. This film was crafted in such a way that comedy strikes you immediately. The quick cuts, cheeky camera moves and over-the-top facial expressions all lead you down a path of comedic entertainment. It’s not until later in the film that we pull the rug out from the audience, flipping the film on it’s head, in order to show the audience the deeper message about loss.
