Filmmaker Statement

The Gentleman Farmer details the battle for survival for a way of life, and two people who are determined to keep a hold of it. I wanted to talk about something very personal to me but in a way that is relatable to everyone. I’ve learnt that talking about the specifics of farming can be quite hard to understand in such a short space of time. I thought I’d highlight the financial struggles faced by increasing agricultural costs and dependency on livestock to survive in a digestible manner, as it is something my farming family is constantly facing in an endless cycle.
