“The Gravity of Time”
An intimate examination of the craft of Large Format Tintype Photography in the modern day, through the eyes of Victor Vague.
I was drawn to make this film after seeing the work of photographer Victor Vague from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Particularly his work with Large Format Tintype Photography.
I'm very interested in and fascinated by processes, especially those that combine art with science or technology. There's an alchemy and a tangibility to this process that I find captivating. To me, there's something very special about the uniqueness of every image captured. This process in particular truly feels like it captures an irreplicable moment in time. Every photograph is one of a kind. There's an intention, a patience, and an attention to detail that I admire and love.
