The "tween" years can be hard on a queer kid. You get all of the hormones and the confusion but then none of it seems to be flying in the same direction as it is for all of your friends. It can be lonely, especially if you don't have the vocabulary to process what you're going through. That's why it feels so important when you finally find someone that's... like you. Again, you may not even know what "like you" is or means, but you just know that it feels good to be around that person and you want to hold on tight. When I read Briandaniel Oglesby's short play, I instantly knew what it was about. I felt these exact feelings myself growing up a very confused queer preteen in the 1990s. My heart bled for Robot Eric and I wanted to tell his story on screen. Thank you for giving our movie a chance, and I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
