The Perfect Place to Cry
Late at night, deep in the woods, a woman cries in her car. A light flickers through the trees. At the edge of her headlights' reach, she can just make out the shape of a man. He's coming closer.

The Perfect Place to Cry squeezes every breath of tension out of its few variables. The woman, the car, the flashlight, the bloodied man. It is a nighttime poem, a humanist horror story carefully fit into a brief six minute runtime. With this short, I explore the tension between revulsion and empathy that is so integral to many of my favorite films. I love when a horror movie can be described as "kind of sweet in a weird way".
