Filmmaker Statement

The Rise of The Villains started as a short film, as a tribute for Heath Ledger's legacy as Joker. People started to love our fist episode and it became a web series. My aim was to focus on the famous villains' backstories, as people tend to focus on Batman's sad past and his good intentions to protect Gotham. Our story starts with Two face and Joker meeting in Arkham Asylum, Joker will reveal his intentions of releasing Two Face, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and The Riddler from the Asylum to join him in his quest of conquering Gotham and destroy Batman for good. We will meet James Gordon, Gotham's commissioner and his assistant, Hanna Irish, with whom he has an affair. Good guys aren't always perfect and bad guys aren't always evil for no reason. The audience will decide on which side they want to be: The Villains or the GCPD (Gotham City Police Department) side, and there are no wrong answers.
