Time and again, the young farmers featured in this film and their descendants have been pushed down beneath Spanish, American, local and corporate misrule that has dic-tated what they could do with their land—however, they show that as far down as they are pushed, they rebound with all the more strength, innovation, intelligence, capacity and forward thinking policies. As we make our way out of the pandemic and question the systemic injustices that plague this world, Puerto Rican farmers show what can be done by embracing systems that are both profitable and just. The seeds they planted a year ago are bearing fruit now.
