Filmmaker Statement

Mo Nan's work is based on the imagination of a future human identity. In his view, future identities will break away from the definition of 'human' and become continuously fluid, boundless beings. Therefore, he uses the mask as the core of his work, referring to the unknown abyss of identity. The protagonist with an unstable form falls into the world of the mask and begins its expedition.
