Filmmaker Statement

My good friend Jonah Silva came into film club one day with a genius script; a mockumentary about a man who nurses a stick back to health after finding it burned in a horrible fire. It's based on those soap commercials with the ducks covered in oil. I, director Cam Laxton, immediately grew fond of the script and wanted to film it as soon as possible. As silly as it may seem, The Stick brings out the love for nature that all people have in their hearts. P.S. The tears at the end were real.
