My brother Ben Christopher and I wrote THE TRIAL in observation of the bleak landscape of hook-up culture that has left many single folks scattered and earnestly seeking stability. Some habits die hard, however- such as the fear of commitment and romanticizing your partner's "potential". So many relationships find themselves with one partner more fully engaged than the other. One partner chases and the other evades. We find ourselves locked in a hypnotizing dance with our partner that is hard to outstep. Both parties are standing in their own way, yet they can only see the missteps of one another. How should we be held accountable in relationship to one another? What might happen if we saw our judgment day?
