The inspiration for making this film was my own anxiety--a major driving force in my life. For every potentially incredible opportunity or even just a fun afternoon with friends, my brain creates a host of absurd scenarios detailing how it could be a disaster. There's a vulnerability to opening yourself up to love or to making art, and anxiety is a protective armor. It keeps you from being hurt, but at the cost of blocking those joys from your life. I wanted to make a film about that mental battle--of having to push past your fears to allow yourself happiness.
