Filmmaker Statement

One night, I was stoned, whilst living with my partner and he brought up a very serious issue that sobered me up pretty quickly. It was an article he was reading concerning a global crisis where children were been given toxic cough syrup leading to hundreds of deaths. Every word that he said is exactly what the script was for this short film only, I turned the tables and changed the tone completely. Instead, I decided to explore the implications a very important issue would pose if it were been discussed with no regard, almost carelessly in the setting of a cafe. I wanted to show what virtue signalling can look like and the "real" story which takes place into the inhabited cartoon world caused from a drop of coffee.
