Filmmaker Statement

Domestic violence is still a common problem in our society, and I have been passionate about raising awareness and helping prevention for some time now. So many still ask, “why didn’t they just leave?” I want this film to encourage meaningful conversations and reflections about these issues. I also wanted to speak to our society's obsession with true crime, and how in sensationalizing it, the humanity of the victims can often be lost in the process. Additionally, I hope this film speaks to how our impact on the earth can outlive us and how we can find sense in the senseless.
