Filmmaker Statement

I spent a significant portion of my twenties in a reckless, ultimately disastrous love triangle, one whose final collapse cost me one of the closest relationships I ever had. I found myself sifting through the wreckage, struggling to move on, during the pandemic - a time when many people were asking, in many different ways, if we could go back to the way things were. I first read Liana's script while facing this turmoil, and I immediately realized I had an opportunity to provide some much-needed catharsis - for myself and others. Whether my team and I succeeded will be left up to the audience, but I know that "To Be Honest" is by far the most personal film I have yet made.
