Transcendence is a dance film that offers a visual feast, inviting audiences to escape the monotony of daily life and embark on a journey of self-discovery. Through dance and nature's beauty, the film examines the unlimited potential of the human spirit and the transformative power of movement. The main characters break free from constraints and enter realms beyond the phenomenal plane. Some scenes were captured using LIDAR technology, further exploring the boundaries of conventional filmmaking. The film is a collaboration between artist and director Bob Sizoo and choreographer and performer Ruben Chi. Shot in 2021 and edited in 2022, it is slated for release this year, our wish is for an exclusive premiere on Nowness. The success of this collaboration has generated increased interest in the intersection of dance and technology, leading to new projects in 2022. One such project involved a live performance that utilized virtual reality technology.
