Filmmaker Statement

made Tubes to process the fear around death I think a lot of us have, especially as we grow older and become more familiar with it. Death becomes less abstract and harder to avoid but we don’t want to face its inescapable nature. Particularly in American culture, we don’t want to think about it, we don’t want to deal with it, so I wanted to find a creative way to process those feelings. They say you should go in the direction of what makes you uncomfortable and the thought that I will inevitably have to say goodbye to my mom and to my dad, that makes me uncomfortable, so here we are!
