Because this is an homage to my dad in many ways, I wanted to play with the aesthetics of his work as a painter. Engaging with his art practices such as the layering of oil paint on canvas, and the underpainting process itself, in order to visually explore themes of layers in relation to memory, loss, creativity, and painting.
