Filmmaker Statement

"Unsaid" is based on anonymous confessions shared by different individuals in response to the question - “Is there something you wish you had said to someone you once loved and lost—something you left unsaid?" The film is an abstract visual portrayal of these confessions that touch upon themes such as regret, sorrow, fear and love. It all started with an instagram post asking the question that then resulted in an outpour of anonymous confessions from different individuals - sharing what they wish they would have expressed but never could. The core idea and motivation of proceeding with making the film, and behind keeping the confessions as true to how they were written by the different individuals, was for the film to serve as a confessional. A space to offload, to lighten and a space to leave something behind.
