Warsha

Unreleased
“Warsha”
In Beirut, a migrant construction worker volunteers to operate the most dangerous crane in the city. Away from everyone's eyes, a secret passion takes flight
It all started back in 2017 when I saw a man standing on top of a crane cabin. At first, I thought he was going to jump, but then as I kept observing him and saw him kneel down and put his forehead to the ground, I realized he was praying. I became infatuated with the world of crane operators: these men who inhabit that little cabin, operating a giant machine, where they can see the world and no one can see them. I became very interested in exploring what one can do with such a liberating privacy up there among the clouds. Meeting the multi-talented Lebanese musical artist KHANSA is what inspired the rest of the story and the protagonist. Warsha encourages us to see each other beyond superficial labels and invites us to get to know each on a deeper level through our deepest desires and dreams. What would we choose to do if we were limitless? Who would we be? Warsha is a film about breaking free of anything that holds us back in life and being the truest version of ourself.
