Filmmaker Statement

While watching Wild Eye Pub, I wanted the viewer to be swept along by the story’s chaos and the absurdity of its characters. Beneath their incoherent and exaggerated behavior lies a consistent thread of playful exaggeration and childlike folly. Set entirely in a pub, the film speaks to anyone who has shared laughter and stories over a beer with friends. Though it toys with metaphysical figures and the fading spirit of Czech folklore, it ultimately aims to entertain and connect — especially with younger audiences, for whom humor often becomes a bridge between the absurd and the profound.
